We are delighted to offer for sale this Exquisite Tallboy Linen Press Chest of Drawers.

Is crafted in the elegant English Queen Anne style, with a stunning walnut veneer that showcases intricate figure patterns. It was constructed during the George V period by the esteemed furniture makers Waring & Gillow around 1930, and remains in a very good original condition.

The design of this tallboy chest draws inspiration from the early 18th century, featuring two sections. The top section boasts two doors adorned with exquisite figured walnut veneer and brass hardware. When opened, these doors reveal two ash linen slides for convenient storage. The original working brass lock and locking bar are still intact. The corners of the cornice are adorned with beautifully carved floral details against a punch-work background, adding a touch of elegance.

Beneath the top section, you'll find a practical configuration of two-over-three drawers. Each drawer is decorated with molded fronts and constructed using strong dovetail joints in solid ash wood. The original splayed brass drop handles and working lever locks are still present on each drawer. As an indication of its authenticity, the top left drawer bears the stamped name "Waring & Gillow" along with an attached metal plate inside for additional verification.

The tallboy is highlighted by its stunning figured walnut veneer on the drawer fronts and solid walnut wood on the sides and frame. This versatile piece can be easily dismantled into two sections to facilitate hassle-free access into your home or bedroom.

Combining decorative beauty with practical functionality, this tallboy linen press chest of drawers exhibits lovely proportions that will enhance any space it occupies.

Caring for your items.

Vintage period and original items, such as leather seating, will always have a natural patina in the form of cracking, creasing and wear.

We recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost and to keep out of sunlight.

For Hand-Dyed leather items, we don't recommend placing them in direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as they will dry out and fade.

For wood, we recommend regular, thorough cleaning and waxing also.
